UPCYCLING CARBON FIBRE
HOCKEY STICKS
I proposed three unique ideas for repurposing damaged carbon fibre hockey sticks. After analysing each concept, I considered a lamp with a carbon fibre spine, a mountable coat hanger that could be easily repositioned, and a coat hanger designed specifically Finnish hockey team. I carefully evaluated each concept to determine its potential for success and feasibility.
This was a project I undertook when I was in Finland where I repurpose worn-out or broken carbon fibre hockey sticks into a functional and creative product that adds value to people's lives. The emphasis is on sustainability and creativity to give them a new lease of life.

Concept 3 - Chosen Concept
For my project, I chose a concept where I repurposed broken or worn-down carbon fibre hockey sticks into a rack that could be used to hang clothes, coats, hats, and other items. During this project, I was based in Finland and designed the rack with the Finland (Kuopio) hockey team's theme, giving the hockey sticks a new lease on life in a hockey environment.
The personalized rack could be used in the team's changing room or in the stadium, providing a unique and functional addition where workers or visitors could hang their coats and hats. In essence, the hockey sticks were "born to play hockey" but were reincarnated into a new form that still maintained their connection to the sport.
